Neuromodulators (Muscle Relaxants): What You Need to Know
Neuromodulators such as botulinum-based injectables (commonly marketed under brand names like Botox, Dysport and Xeomin) are purified proteins that, when injected, temporarily relax targeted facial muscles beneath the skin. This controlled relaxation helps smooth the skin’s surface and gradually reduce the appearance of expression lines and dynamic wrinkles.
Each product contains a slightly different form of botulinum toxin, which can influence how the treatment performs depending on individual response. Your injector will assess which formulation is best suited to your skin, muscle structure, and aesthetic goals.

Doctor’s Assessment
During your first visit, you will meet with the doctor for an initial assessment. He will make sure that you are a good candidate for injections and will perform a muscle diagnosis. Treatment Before the injections, some areas are marked with a white pencil. Guided by the marking points, injections are done precisely by an expert injector. The muscle relaxant is injected in minutes without any form of anesthesia. The pain from the injection is compared to that of a mosquito bite, thus discomfort is minimal. After Injecting the Muscle Relaxant After your treatment, it is recommended not to tilt your head, in an exaggerated motion, forward and backward for 4 hours. In addition, do not touch the injected areas for 4 hours. Continuous Monitoring You will be given a follow-up appointment 14 days after your visit to determine if the product has worked well. We will assess whether or not any other injections are necessary.
