What Is a Strong Jawline?
The masseter is a powerful muscle located at the angle of the mandible. It allows movement of the lower jaw. It’s the muscle that is used to chew. In some people, this muscle can become too strong and can cause some small problems that aren’t dangerous to one’s health.
Aesthetic aspect: A strong and too apparent masseter reduces the definition of the oval of the face.
Medical aspect: A strong masseter, caused by gnashing of teeth at night, can cause pain in some people in the face, ears and neck. Some will also have headaches as a result as well as potential damage caused to the teeth during repeated rubbing.
Masseter Injections
Our Approach
The treatment consists of the injection of Botox®️ into the muscle. Botox®️ is a protein (botulinum toxin) which, once injected, forces the muscle to relax. The effects are not immediate, it takes up to 14 days for optimal results. The use of Botox®️ in the cosmetic industry dates back to the 1990s. It has therefore been around for almost 30 years. On average, results last between 3 to 4 months. In some people, the muscles treated with Botox®️ will lose mass over the course of treatments, resulting in a decrease in the number of units necessary to relax them, as well as an increase in the duration of its effectiveness.
